About Julia.
Writer. Artist. Boy Mom. Teacher.
Julia has been creating since she could walk. Making things has been part of her life since she made her first garage sale purchase— a $5 box of seashells— and proceeded to glue them on everything in sight. As an adult, she began doodling and drawing with her children. First, it was chalk art on the driveway, then interactive chore charts (she’s a FUN mom!) and Christmas wish lists. Pretty soon, she was illustrating scripture for her Pre-K class and designing the Holiday Show programs for the whole preschool.
She was kept up at night by the idea of painting. The colors. The lines. The possibilities. Julia’s art is instinctual and inspired primarily by color. Her use of bright and saturated hues sets her work apart. She adores round lines and layers upon layers of paint.
Julia is a mother, wife and pre-K teacher who calls Franklin, Tennessee home. She is endlessly inspired by the beauty in the mundane and strives to capture it in her work. When she isn’t painting, Julia can be found chasing her three growing boys, leading circle time for her class, and doing crossword puzzles with Matt.
Let all that you do be done in love. 1 Corinthians 16:14
